Kitchens

We returned to the CPR Construction team for our second phase of home projects based on the quality we experienced using CPR before. This phase involved updating the kitchen counters, adding a backsplash, installing a new dishwasher, sink, fixtures, and installing/updating kitchen lighting; adding recessed lighting to the family room, study, and second floor hallway; and ceiling repairs to two bedrooms and the master bedroom closet. As before, Chris was friendly, informative, and easy to work with. He went the extra mile to help us determine the appropriate lighting settings (which we are very particular about!), and to complete additional projects they came up during the process, such as drywall repair and painting an additional bedroom and Chris even added flooring to areas of our attic, neither of which were within our original requests. When we plan more home improvement/upgrade projects, we will definitely use the CPR team again in the future!

I had been putting off a long overdue renovation, not knowing just what to expect. The work touched many areas as I redid my kitchen, master bath, hall bath, moved the laundry upstairs, and refinished the floors on the entire first floor. I was impressed when the subcontractors showed up with Chris to do the estimate. I realized that this gave them the scope of the work from day one, putting everyone on the same page. Chris was very hands-on, starting with demo day, and continuing throughout the four-month process. Communication was mainly by email and was very responsive. I was always kept informed of the schedule. On the days that I was stumbling on decisions, Chris was there to make suggestions and give me options. I am delighted with the results and am getting many compliments from family and friends.

Our renovation was extensive, exterior and interior renovations and remodeling. Chris Raneri (CPR Construction) was the perfect person for it. He started by listening to us and asking questions and then gave us time and cost estimates for different scenarios. Once we decided, he walked us through his plan for all the work, the timeline for what he'd do and what we'd need to do, and then coordinated and oversaw that all the work was done efficiently and with such attention to detail. He juggled different trades' scheduling to keep work going continuously, identified any additional issues or possibilities as he saw them, and explained the costs, benefits, and impact of addressing them. He kept us informed on the scheduling, any changes, and any questions he had and welcomed any questions or fixes/changes we wanted. Since he's got extensive construction and remodeling background, he's developed relationships with quality subcontractors and suppliers, which meant good quality work and product and reasonable prices for us. Even with such a good relationship and confidence in his subcontractor crews, he still monitored all the work and had any fixes done immediately if found. The work was done in the planned time and to budget. And the finished product is even better than we could've imagined! It is absolutely wonderful and we couldn't be happier. We would (and probably will) use Chris again!

Chris just finished building a mother-in-law suite within our home and we truly could not be happier with the result. The rooms are sparkling from top to bottom with new walls, closets, doors, paint, floors and light fixtures. The old bathtub has been replaced with a step-in shower with handy grab bars, the doorway has been widened to accomodate wheelchairs (which we hope to never need), and a transom window has been added for natural light. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets from Chris's recommended vendor are gorgeous and fit the spaces perfectly. Chris also rebuilt our deck with Trex materials to allow direct access from the suite via a new exterior door. We appreciated Chris's hands-on approach immensely; he does much of the work himself and came by the house every day when other trades were working. He did not cut corners, dealt efficiently and timely with unforeseen issues found behind drywall and in the stressed supply chains of 2021 and 2022, kept the work areas clean and tidy (except for the dust, which I believe is unavoidable), and kept us apprised of progress and problems as they occured. We will call Chris for all of our future building work without hesitation. In fact, I did just that as this project was wrapping up. Our tweny-year-old hot water tank rusted through during the coldest January I have experienced in North Carolina. While swapping out the old tank for another would have been straightforward, we had planned to switch to a tankless hot water heater in a year or two anyway to make room for an additional half bath. Chris has spent the best part of his week putting together a tankless system, a plumber, an electrician, and a new high-pressure natural gas line, and handled the carpentry himself in order to get us back on line in three hectic days.

Chris took over a kitchen renovation as the project manager and I was extremely pleased with the result. He hires very competent and professional workers. He kept me informed along the way and assisted with making decisions. I would highly recommend hiring him for any renovation you plan to do. Thanks Chris, I love my kitchen!

I hired on Chris and team after he renovated my parents unfinished basement. From day one, he was thorough, consistent and extremely communicative. I had a very specific vision, and was pretty unwavering in what I wanted, (specifically full slab quartz backsplash and mounted open shelving). The final product turned out fantastic. He has a great list of vendors - although his cabinet guy and electricians are probably my favorites - and the work that was done was top notch. We did come in over budget - but that was largely due to my own additions and upgrades, all of his budgeting (excluding original electric which is nearly impossible to guesstimate) came in right on par. I highly recommend Chris if youandre looking to take on a major renovation. I would recommend working with one of the designers he has worked with in the past because his advice will usually lean on the side of function over design aesthetic. (typical guy) Thanks for everything Chris, we love our home and canandt wait to show it all off when all this social distancing comes to an end!

Chris Raneri of CPR Construction has finished our basement by adding 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, media room, kitchenette, utility areas, play areas etc. The basement is bright with wonderful lighting. He helped us design a fantastic space that our family will enjoy for years. He is a professional, and does A++ work, there is nothing that he misses! Both of us are quite impressed with his dedication, his attention to detail, and making sure everything is perfect and is exactly or better than what was agreed to at the beginning. He finishes on time as promised and as agreed to for pricing. We recommend Chris highly for anyone looking to do any kind of projects.

We hired CPR Construction for our kitchen and family room renovation which included updated wiring and electrical panel and subpanel. We cannot say enough good things about Chris. His price was fair. He was conscientious, thorough, attentive, responsive, actively engaged, and incredibly detail oriented. His trades crews were very good and Chris worked alongside them on many occasions. He delivered as promised. There were some unexpected problems with our older house (and new cabinets), but Chris explained our options and worked with us to find solutions. He is very easy to work with. He took time to explain everything in detail. His contract was thorough and fair. I would not hesitate to recommend him and hope to engage him again for other projects.

CPR Construction renovated the entire first floor of our house (kitchen, powder room, study, family room, sunroom) in under 10 weeks. The sheer amount of work that Chris and his team performed at such an accelerated pace is a testament to his planning, budgeting, and execution skills. The work was completed on-time, on-budget, and with results that are impeccable. We never once worried that a task would not be done perfectly as it was obvious to us after the first week of working with him that Chris takes tremendous pride in his work, and expects the same from his team as well. We highly recommend CPR Construction and look forward to working with Chris again when we renovate the upper floor.

CPR Construction has raised the bar for quality and service. I would highly recommend CPR construction for any remodel/repair work. They were very professional, courteous and helpful throughout the whole process. Chris Raneri kept us informed on a daily basis and answered any questions or concerns we had no matter how small. They took pride in the quality of work they did remodeling our kitchen. A refreshing change of pace from most contractors, the CPR crew showed up on time and got the job done within the anticipated time frame. I was amazed at how quickly things happened. When looking for the right granite counter tops, Chris went out of his way to make sure we found the perfect selection that we wanted. We will definitely use CPR again and encourage anyone looking to remodel or needing repair work to contact Chris. It was a pleasure working with them.
